Amphotericin B Liposomal (liposomal amphotericin B) is a potent antifungal medicine used in hospitals for severe, life-threatening fungal infections. It is prescribed for:
Invasive fungal infections such as aspergillosis, mucormycosis, and cryptococcosis
Cryptococcal meningitis, especially in HIV-infected individuals
Visceral leishmaniasis (kala-azar)
Systemic candidiasis and other deep fungal infections
The liposomal formulation improves delivery to infected tissues and reduces toxicity compared to conventional amphotericin B.
