This medicine is a high-dose corticosteroid used in hospitals for conditions requiring rapid anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive action. It is commonly used for:
Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis adjunct)

Autoimmune flare-ups such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis

500 mg to 1 g IV once daily
Duration: 1–3 days, depending on clinical need
Reconstitute the powder with sterile water
Administer IV injection or IV infusion
Infusion is usually given over 30 minutes
