Telmisartan (40 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg) combination medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps relax blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a mild diuretic (water pill) that helps remove excess salt and water from the body, further reducing blood pressure. Together, they provide more effective blood pressure control than either medicine alone, helping reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage when taken regularly as prescribed by a doctor.
